Krewe de Compliance: Annual Compliance Training for 2026

It was a freezing parade of Mardi Gras fun on Saturday, January 31, 2026, as Mid South hosted our annual Compliance Training Event. We filled the Clyde Muse Center in Pearl, Mississippi, with physical, occupational, and speech therapists as well as a host of facility administrators. We'd like to thank our Mid South family of employees for attending and learning, as well as those not affiliated with our organization who joined us!

After checking in, guests enjoyed coffee and breakfast from Chic-fil-A. Charlean Williams, Vice President of HIM & Compliance, welcomed everyone and introduced Dan Ridley, Director of Employee Retention and Satisfaction. Dan greeted the crowd and led us in prayer to begin the event, specifically lifting up our brothers and sisters in the areas impacted by winter storm Fern. Next, Charlean introduced our first speaker, Julie Mitchell, JD, who presented on Compliance 101: Back to Basics.

After a mid-morning break, Charlean introduced our next speaker, Sabrena McCarley, MBA-SL, OTR/L, CLIPP, RAC-CT, QCP, FAOTA, RAC-CTA. Sabrena gave an in-depth look at recent changes and developments that directly affect the way therapists mindfully treat and approach patient care. For lunch, guests enjoyed delicious sandwiches and salads from Jason's Deli.

We'd like to thank our amazing speakers for making Krewe de Compliance an excellent resource and learning opportunity for our staff and guests. Mid South would also like to recognize Charlean Williams and the HIM/Compliance Staff for their hard work in preparing for this event. Thank you to our staff at the Employee Support Center and our Regional Clinical Directors for helping keep the good times rolling all day Saturday! We can't wait to see you all again next year!
