Brookdale Hattiesburg Welcomes Sloane Parker, SLP

We are excited to announce the hiring of our new, full-time Speech Language Pathologist, Sloane Parker, SLP. She serves at Brookdale Hattiesburg. Sloane received her undergraduate and graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Southern Mississippi, where she completed various clinical experiences across settings such as university clinics, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient facilities. During her medical externship, she had the opportunity to work with Mid South’s Carla Magee, CCC-SLP, in Prentiss, MS. Carla opened her eyes to treating adult and geriatric patients, and Sloane was hooked. Sloane was on the President and Deans list at the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition, she is the recipient of the Caroline Felscher Outstanding Senior Tri Delta Member Award and the Graduate Academic Excellence Award. Sloane has a special interest in Dysphagia, Pediatrics, Autism, Expressive/ Receptive Language, Speech/Language, and Cognitive Communication Disorders as part of her field of study.

Sloane chose to pursue a career in speech therapy as she learned how much it improved the quality of

life for others. With a servant’s heart like hers, we know she’ll fit right in at Mid South and be ready to

take on the speech therapy needs of the community, and we cannot wait to see her patients’ recovery

journeys. When she is not at work, she enjoys shopping, playing with her cat Binx, decorating, and

spending time with friends and family.

Mid South Rehab values the continuing education and promotion of exceptional leaders. We are excited to have Sloane as a partner in our company, and we look forward to many opportunities for her to further her education and specialize in certification and training. Sloane is excited to join Mid South, and we are thrilled to have her. We look forward to her progress and know she will have opportunities to improve the lives of our patients in her new role.
