Meet Megan - Mid South's new OT at Magee General Hospital

Updated: Sep 12, 2019

After her father suffered from a stroke, Megan Cook met occupational therapy. She attended his therapy sessions, helping in any way she could. His left side was badly affected, but they walked the journey of recovery together. He celebrated an incredible recovery, and all that remains from the stroke is his limp. Because of his encouragement and the experience they shared, Megan went on to become an occupational therapist.

After completing her prerequisites at Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Colin), Megan graduated with her Master of Occupational Therapy from University Medical Center in 2012.

When her family moved from Brookhaven to Florence, Megan found Mid South Rehab.

“I wanted to use what I am good at doing. I wanted variety and to have my hand in a bit of it all,” she said.

Megan is serving as an occupational therapist for Mid South’s strategic partner facility, Magee General Hospital. She enjoys seeing patients of different ages, levels of care, and in outpatient and inpatient settings.

“I really love my coworkers and the population we treat. We just have a really great team,” she said.

Megan is married to Adam Cook, who teaches high school mathematics at Pearl High School. They have a daughter, Merritt Cook, who turned one year old in July.

Mid South Rehab Services, Inc. and Magee General Hospital are thankful to have a passionate, caring, and skilled occupational therapist serving on our behalf. We wish you all the best, Megan.
