Mid South & Friends of MS Veterans

In 2019, Mid South's President & CEO, Steven Cole, joined with President of FOMV, Jack Winstead, Director of MS Veterans Affairs, Stacy Pickering, and Mr. Paul Breazeale to create a fundraising event for Friends of Mississippi Veterans, 501(c)3. Friends was originally created to fund the development of military cemeteries, but after that goal was reached, Friends began new projects to enrich and honor the lives of Mississippi Veterans.

As a veteran himself, Mr. Steven Cole wholeheartedly supported the mission of Friends, and together with his friends, partners, and an incredible action committee, successfully held the Inaugural Sporting Clay Competition benefiting Friends of Mississippi Veterans in 2019.

In 2020, the Sporting Clay Competition raised $122, 942 to supplement the care our veterans receive in the four VA homes in our state.

After two years of truly remarkable success, this event has grown into a two-day experience featuring a Golf Classic at the Country Club of Jackson in addition to our two-flight Sporting Clay Competition at Providence Hill Farm.
